The successful candidate should hold a master’s degree in History, History of Science or related disciplines and is proficient in English (in written form and orally). We expect profound knowledge of areas within the field of history of the humanities and/or sciences.
Experience gained abroad is highly appreciated. Research projects which overlap with the recently emerging “history of quantification” are an advantage. In this field the legal, economic, technical and social histories of data and measurement are investigated (e.g. internationalism in standardisation, evidence and rationalisation, insurance and administration, lists and databases, history of statistics and money, technologies of privacy, metrication and colonisation).
