intercom Verlag was founded in Zurich in 2018. It specializes in hybrid (online/print) open access publication that are closely aligned with the current needs of the humanities. Nils Güttler is co-managing director of intercom, series co-editor of Æther, cache and Mono, and has co-edited the volumes on the history of Zurich Airport, the role of counter-knowledge (“Gegenwissen”) within social movements, and on “Verwaltete Umwelt” (forthcoming). Anna Echterhölter is a member of the scientific advisory board. Sebastian Felten co-edited the volume “Queer Vienna”, Janina Kehr the cache-volume“Radical Health” (forthcoming). Dietlind Hüchtker and Friedrich Cain are currently editing a Æther volume on “Situated Disciplines” on the history of Women Studies. intercom cooperates closely with the Visual Communication program at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK).
