The Global Data of Nuclear Winter and Acid Rain: Navigating the Cold War Research Infrastructures at IIASA in Laxenburg

Eglė Rindzevičiūtė (London), comment by Till Düppe (Montréal)

registration: wissenschaftsgeschichte.hkw@univie.ac.at

The Forschungsschwerpunkt Wissenschaftsgeschichte at the University of Vienna hosts a seminar with sociologist and criminologist Eglė Rindzevičiūtė to discuss transnational environmental concerns, diplomacy and scientific expertise in the late Cold War period. After a comment by Till Düppe, a philosopher working on the epistemology of economics, we will discuss Eglė Rindzevičiūtė's ongoing research based on two chapters of her Book "The Power of Systems" that are attached to this email. We look forward to the discussion, and hope that you can join us:

This is a joint event with the AG Wissenschaftsgeschichte.

Later that week the international workshop "Worlds of management. Transregional approaches to management knowledge since 1945" will take place, where Rindzeviciute gives a keynote lecture. Organization: Katharina Kreuder-Sonnen (University of Vienna), Lukas Becht (University of Vienna), Florian Peters (Leibniz Institute for Contemporary History, Berlin), Vítězslav Sommer (Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague)
